The Philomena Rosary
This rosary was reverently hand-crafted, and I pray for its future owner through the intercession of St. Philomena, the wonder worker ❀ It is designed with the coolest beads - synthetic moonstone! One half of the bead is purple and the other half transparent, showing a reflective blue layer in between. White roses are used for Our Father beads for each design in this collection, to remind us daughters of Christ the beauty and purity He placed in you! Each bead is individually threaded, linked together by hand-curled eyepins, with small chain links connecting the Our Father roses.
This young saint, martyred in the year 304 A.D. at just 13 years old, is believed to have been a Greek princess who chose to take a vow of consecrated virginity around the age of 12-13. She was subjected to extreme torture at the hands of Roman emperor Diocletian for refusing to marry him after he fell in love with her. He had her scourged, drowned with an anchor attached, and shot with arrows; at every attempt he made, angels were seen fleeing to Philomena's side to protect her and she was left unscathed. Diocletian was infuriated, and finally had her decapitated. It is rumored that she died at 3:00 pm on a Friday, just like Jesus. St. Philomena, pray for us!
